How To: Glitz Makeup

One of the things I see pageant moms struggle with the most is hair and makeup. It is possible to do these yourself, if you’re wanting to save some money. It does takes practice and knowledge of what products to use, as well as how to apply them. Here are my instructions for glitz makeup application:

Step 1) Foundation/Concealer – Apply foundation to entire face to even out complexion. Start in the center of face and work your way to the edges. Follow by adding concealer to any areas that need a little extra coverage. This may be blemishes, scars, bruises, or dark under eyes.

Step 2) Bronzer – Take a big fluffy brush and apply powder bronzer in the shape of a number 3 on each side of the face. The number 3 should sweep around the hairline at the forehead and down the side of the face. Suck in your cheeks and this is where the bronzer should come inwards (at the line you see when sucking in). Finish by sweeping across the jaw and chin line. You can then sweep a tiny bit down the nose. The bronzer is placed in the areas where the sun natural kisses you.

Step 3) Blush – Smile and apply the blush at the round apples of your cheeks, sweeping upwards to the hairline.

Step 4) Highlight – Using a liquid or powder highlight you are going to create a C shape. This should start above the eyebrow and sweep across the temple. It comes inwards across the top of the blush (right on your cheek bones). You also want to put some highlight in the inside corners of your eye and right underneath the eyes.

Step 5) Light Shadow – Take a light shade of eyeshadow, usually a very light gold or silver and sweep it just underneath the eyebrow and down towards the inner eye.

Step 6) Medium Shadow – Take a medium shade of eyeshadow and sweep it across the lid of the eye. Something with a lot of shimmer works well for this.

Step 7) Dark Shadow – Take a dark shade of eyeshadow and sweep in the crease. This is the area that dents in at the top of the eyeball. The shadow should sweep outwards to the edge of the eye.

Step 8) Mascara – Apply lots of mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

Step 9) False Eyelashes – Apply glue to your false lashes. Wait about 10 seconds for the glue to dry, or until it feels tacky (this avoids getting glue in your eye). Apply the lashes right where your lashes meet your eyelid.

Step 10) Eye Liner – Apply a thin line of eye liner where the false lashes meets the eyelid. This will help disguise them. The liner should extend a bit past the line of the eyelid. If putting eye liner on the bottom, only go half-way across the eye. I like using gel or liquid, especially on little ones, as it goes on smooth and they don’t feel it. When using liquid, make sure they keep their eyes closed to let it dry.

Step 11) Lip Liner – This is an optional step. Select a color one shade darker than your lipstick. Outline the edges of the lip using the pencil.

Step 12) Lipstick – Fill in the rest of the lip using the lipstick.

This may seem like a lot of steps, but once you get the hang of it, you can do it in 15 minutes. I did not suggest many colors to use, as that depends on the person’s skin tone, eye color, outfit, etc. You can ask your coach to help you select proper makeup colors, or a person who is trained at a cosmetics store.

In my view, if all website owners publish good content as you did, the internet will be much more useful than ever before. For more visit Makeup Artist Melbourne
